Higher Education & Futsal Day at the University of Bedfordshire
Members of our Football Academy took part in a hybrid development day at the Bedford campus of the University of Bedfordshire, in association with the Bedford Futsal Club. The students had the opportunity to tour the university’s facilities and discover more about courses, bursaries and scholarships. They also took part in a performance analysis session led by staff from the School of Sport and Physical Activity. The day also included practical activities organised by Bedford Futsal Club, whose players took on our students and those from the Bedford Academy and Chalk Hills Academy in Luton in a series of games throughout the day.
Malcolm Lay, Director of the Denbigh Football Academy said: ‘The majority of our Football Academy students go onto Higher Education so the chance to visit the University of Bedfordshire’s excellent facilities has allowed them to focus on their future. The link with Bedford Futsal Club was a bonus as our students use Futsal as a training method to develop their skills. They were delighted to test themselves against a team who compete in the FA National Futsal Series and to meet Carl Tappin, a former Denbigh Football Academy Football student who set up and runs the Bedford Futsal Club.
