Bank of England Speaker Shares Economic Insight

Our Sixth Form Business, Economics and Finance students were given a fascinating insight into the workings of the Bank of England and its monetary policy by visiting speaker Joseph Hettrick, who works for the Bank.

Mr Hettrick outlined the leading role the Bank of England plays in managing the economy.  He set out the challenges of the current economic situation, including issues related to significant inflationary pressures.  Mr Hettrick also outlined career paths and opportunities that could be available to our students if they chose to pursue a career at the Bank. 

This was a wonderful opportunity for our students to deepen their knowledge of the workings of the Bank of England and gain valuable economic insight.
