Students enjoy new experiences through Enrichment Day
The first of our three Enrichment Days this year was a huge success with students having fantastic new experiences both in and out of school. The day saw students from Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 came off timetable to explore and learn about aspects of life and community beyond the traditional curriculum.
We had seven exciting trips that went out including visits to Warwick Castle, Woburn Safari Park, Bletchley Park, The Caldecotte Experience, Kew Gardens, the Science Museum, and the University of Bedfordshire.
There were also a range of in-school experiences on offer. Year 7 students tested their entrepreneurial skills with the Restaurant Challenge. Year 10 students focused on life skills with sessions on self–defence, first aid, mental health, job applications and financial planning/budgeting. Year 8 students took part in sessions aimed at increasing their awareness of the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
There will be two further enrichment days this year in March and then July, when there will again be a huge range of opportunities for students to develop their learning outside of the classroom whilst creating memories that will hopefully last a lifetime.
