National ‘Young Composer of the Year’ Finalist
Rich Mandal, Year 12 is one of 10 finalists in the prestigious ORA Singers National ‘Young Composer of the Year’ Competition. This national competition is open to all state school students with the aim of developing the skills of 10 young talented composers. Rich and his fellow finalists will receive 10 hours of one-to-one mentoring with professional composers, who will help them write a new choral piece which will be performed and recorded in a concert in Gloucester Cathedral on 27th July by ORA Singers. During the scheme, the finalists will have their ideas and sketches workshopped by ORA Singers, who offer specialised tips and advice along with a guest composer.
This is a fantastic sought after opportunity for Rich and we wish him every success. You can read more about the Competition at: https://www.orasingers.co.uk/announcing-the-2023-young-composers-and-apprentices-1
