Celebrating STEM at Denbigh
We had a fantastic STEM Awards Ceremony last week, our first celebration with family and friends since 2019. 150 awards for the STEM subjects of Maths, Science, DT and Business & Computing were given out on the night. These included the Niftylift Innovation Award which was given to Afua Essel from Year 13, for demonstrating an innovative approach in her Design Technology studies. This award is sponsored by Niftylift who support our students in their engineering studies. Afua received the award from Stephanie Freeman, a former student of ours and previous winner of this award, who now works for Niftylift.
Former student Jess Williams, who is now a professional performer, presented the awards, gave an inspiring talk and sang a beautiful rendition of ‘On my own’ from Les Misérables, accompanied by our very own Mr Myers!
It was a memorable evening made all the more special as we haven’t been able to celebrate together for such a long time.
