Denbigh wins big at MK Education Awards
Denbigh secured the largest haul of awards at the MK Education Awards, winning the ‘Secondary School of the Year’, ‘IT Champion’ and ‘Maths Team of the Year’ awards. It was a night of huge celebration for the school at the Ceremony which was organised by All Things Business and held at Stadium MK with choreographer and TV personality Louie Spence hosting.
The MK Education Awards recognise the wealth of talented people within the MK Education sector who devote themselves to providing an outstanding learning experience for the young people of Milton Keynes. For Denbigh to be named winners in three of the categories, including the prestigious ‘Secondary School of the Year’ award, demonstrates the depth of teaching talent at our school. As the panel of judges said we demonstrate innovation, imagination and develop young people in ways that go beyond the league tables. The judges said the award recognises our efforts to ensure all our students become well-rounded, value-driven and determined adults.
Our fantastic Maths Faculty was recognised as the ‘Maths Team of the Year’, impressing the judges by demonstrating the strength of their collaborative learning and an unwavering commitment to student development. Mr Burgess, our Maths Head of Faculty was there to collect the award on behalf of his colleagues.
Mr Bennett, our Associate Assistant Headteacher was named ‘IT Champion’ in recognition of how he empowers students and educators to embrace new technologies to improve educational outcomes. With a positive ‘I can do it and you can too’ approach and endless enthusiasm, Mr Bennett is an inspiration to students and colleagues alike.
Dr Frame said ‘It was an amazing night for our school. I am so pleased that our talented and hardworking staff have been recognised in this way as they are at the very heart of our learning community and give their all to ensure that our students have an outstanding educational experience’.
