Science Week Fun at Glastonbury Thorn School

Denbigh’s science teachers and Sixth Formers led National Science Week fun for pupils at Glastonbury Thorn School last week.  Ms Harriman and Mr Hairsine launched Science Week at a whole school assembly sharing fun facts on the skeleton, the Van de Graaff Generator and elephants’ toothpaste!

Then during the week Mr List and Mr Berriman and seven of our Year 12 scientists led hands-on activities for Year 2 pupils, looking at the structure of the eye, how pinhole cameras work, how to measure the speed of marbles going down a ramp and how to make fruity batteries.

It was a fun week for all involved and a fantastic chance to celebrate Science Week with our local community.
