Philosophy, Religion & Ethics Visit to Cambridge University
Year 12 Philosophy, Religion and Ethics students had a fascinating trip to Cambridge University last week to find out more about undergraduate studies in Theology, Religion and Philosophy.
The students started with a visit to the Faculty of Divinity where they visited the faculty’s famous library which holds approximately 62,000 volumes covering the breadth of Theology and Religious studies, including the famous Genizah manuscripts. They also had a lecture with Professor Timothy Winter who is prominent theologian and Islamic scholar. This was a typical second year undergraduate lecture and our students were able to follow him and were completely absorbed by his talk.
The students also toured Trinity College and Jesus College, including a visit to the famous chapel there. They were also treated to a punt down the river Cam which was fantastic on such a sunny day.
It was a memorable and inspiring trip for all the students involved.
