Sixth Form students take to the Bar
Students from Year 12 and Year 13 competed virtually in the Oxford Regional Heat of the Bar Mock Trial Competition on 10th March and performed brilliantly. The Bar Mock Trial Competition is a national event, run by Young Citizens UK and open to students aged 15 – 18 from all over the UK. It aims to help students understand how the law touches every aspect of their lives and give them an insight into how the legal justice system works.
In the Competition our students took part in two mock criminal trials taking on both prosecution and defence roles. The students did not win through to the National Finals, but they did themselves proud and really enjoyed the experience. They received some very positive comments from the judges, particularly regarding their cross-examinations.
Thank you to Mrs Smith and Miss Briant who supported the students in their preparation for the Competition.
