Women in Engineering Day
Thirteen of our Year 9 Design and Technology students were inspired by their recent visit to Niftylift to take part in a ‘Women in Engineering Event’. The event offered students an opportunity to learn about the different career paths available within the field of engineering and the work undertaken at Niftylift.
The event attracted 120 students from schools across Milton Keynes and included a tour of the factory, production assembly tasks, control and hydraulic systems demonstrations and a CAD workshop where students got to design an e-stop using Creo. The students also met female staff who talked about their routes into their engineering careers. Our students came away from the event feeling motivated, insightful and enthused about the experience and the role of women in engineering.
We are very grateful for our close relationship with Nifylift through which we can promote STEM subjects and careers with our students.
