Former student Akaash Meeda, a BAFTA award winning Film and TV Director was our special guest at the Creative Arts and Arts Awards Ceremony. Akaash showed a reel of his work, including his BBC Short Film, ‘Mobility’, which he won a BAFTA for this year. In an inspiring speech, Akaash spoke about how he has made his way in the world of film and TV since leaving Denbigh.
Akaash gave out the awards recognising academic achievement and outstanding contribution to the Creative Arts and Arts subjects and for participation in extra-curricular activities. We celebrated the subjects of Art, Drama, Music, Music Technology, English, Media, Humanities, Languages & Social Sciences.
Special ‘Creative Arts Lifetime Achievement Awards’ were given out to Benjamin Davies, Rich Mandal and Sahra Rae, Year 13 students who have made an outstanding contribution to the Creative Arts during their time at Denbigh. We are proud of them and look forward to hearing about their artistic journeys after Denbigh.
We also celebrated our success in debate competitions this year including the team that won the MK Schools Parliamentary Debate Competition. We also recognised the valuable work carried out by our Holocaust Education Trust Student Ambassadors.
The Ceremony was truly memorable for students, parents and staff.
