Denbigh is first MK secondary school to achieve ARC Bronze Award
Denbigh has become the first Milton Keynes secondary school to be awarded the ARC Bronze Award through the ‘Trauma Informed and Attachment Aware Practice in Education Settings Programme’ (TIAAS). This Programme was set up by MKCC’s ‘Virtual School’ because education providers across MK recognised that in our diverse and ever-changing City, meeting the needs of some of the most vulnerable children in our community is now more challenging than ever. The Programme’s aim is to increase understanding of the issues around childhood trauma and the use of ‘attachment aware’ and ‘trauma informed’ practice in schools. The Programme draws on the support and resources of the Attachment Research Community (ARC).
Denbigh has embraced the Programme which involves both primary and secondary schools and this month we became the first MK secondary school to be awarded the ARC Bronze Award. This Award is the result of a tremendous team effort in-school over the last academic year led by Mrs Molloy, our Pupil Premium Champion. We believe that the Programme is impacting positively on our whole school community and research and training will continue over the next academic year under the Programme.
