Rio takes centre stage in Matilda the Musical

Year 7 student Rio is currently performing in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s UK and Ireland tour of Matilda the Musical and as part of the production’s nationwide run, he will take to the stage at Milton Keynes Theatre throughout November.

This is not Rio’s first appearance in a major touring production. He previously performed in the UK & International tour of The Bodyguard The Musical, gaining valuable experience on the professional stage in theatres across Europe and the UK.

Rio is part of a talented family of performers as his brother Castro, Year 9 is also an actor.  They both have screenwork credits including being dancers in the Bakar – Lonyo music video & appearing in an advert for the Department of Education.  Castro has also appeared in a short film for charity which is due to be released in December.

It is a remarkable achievement to balance the demands of school life with a professional performing career, and Rio & Castro continue to demonstrate exceptional talent, dedication and commitment in everything they do.

We wish Rio every success with Matilda the Musical as he continues this exciting journey and hope he enjoys every moment of this unforgettable  experience.
