Exciting Visits mark first Enrichment Day of the Year

Our first Enrichment Day of the year gave students from Years 7 to 10 the chance to take a trip to some fantastic national visitor attractions.   Year 7 students spent the day exploring Warwick Castle and Woburn Safari Park.  Year 8 students visited the Centre for Computing History and the beautiful Kew Gardens.  Year 9 learnt about the history of motor racing at the Silverstone Museum and Year 10 got active at the Kempston Outdoor Centre.

Every term we hold an enrichment day when students come off timetable to learn about aspects of life and community beyond the traditional curriculum.  For Years 7 to 10 this will involve either joining a trip to a visitor attraction or participating in sessions in-school focused on developing key life skills, led by external experts.   Year 11 and Year 13 students take part in focused preparation sessions for their forthcoming GCSEs and A Levels.

Mr Burgess, Assistant Headteacher who organised the day said: ‘It was wonderful to see our students enjoying fantastic days out at these popular national visitor attractions.  The students were positive, engaged and represented the School wonderfully.  We are very grateful to all staff who go the extra mile to facilitate these trips for our students.’
