Inaugural Music Soirée hits the right note

We hosted our first ever Music Soirée on 25 March showcasing the extraordinary talent of over 30 of our young musicians.  On an unforgettable evening, we had breathtaking performances from violas, violins, vocalists, cellos, pianos and accordions.  The Evening also saw the debut of two brand-new bands, with support from our Music Department.  Could this be the beginning of a Denbigh ‘Battle of the Bands’ Rock Challenge? Only time will tell so watch this space!

Following the success of the Evening, we are thrilled to announce that the Music Soirée will now take place every term, open to students from all year groups, with the possibility of surprise performances from a few teachers!

Mr Stroud, our Head of Music said: ‘Our Music Soirées will provide a platform for our young musicians to step onto the stage and share their passion for music.  Each term, our dedicated peripatetic music teachers and the Music Department will select students to perform.  This ensures that all students, from KS3 to GCSE and A-Level, will have the opportunity to develop their confidence, performance skills, and musical talents in a supportive, nurturing environment.’

Mr Steed our Headteacher said: ‘As a school, we are committed to recognising and celebrating the hard work, dedication, and artistic growth of our young musicians. We can’t wait to see even more students shine in the spotlight at the next Music Soirée!’

Parent Review:

‘Thank you very much for organising a wonderful music event at school last night. It ran very smoothly, and we are very grateful that you have started up these opportunities to perform. I never thought I would hear my child play any instrument outside of our living room! ‘
