Students achieve outstanding success in National Maths Challenge

Talented mathematicians from Years 9, 10 and 11 have achieved an impressive total of 22 gold medals in the UKMT National Intermediate Maths Challenge.  Of these, 15 students have also qualified for the prestigious Kangaroo Round, the next round of the Challenge designed to test advanced mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and problem‑solving skills.

In total, 182 students across Years 9, 10 and 11 chose to take part in this national competition, challenging themselves against some of the strongest young mathematicians in the country.

Special mentions go to Shamya Menakan who recorded the best result in Year 9, James Mansell who was the highest scorer in Year 10 and Bornini Das and Akshaja Vijayakumar who were Year 11’s joint highest scorers.

We congratulate all participants on their achievements and wish the students progressing to the next round the very best of luck.  The students progressing to the Kangaroo Round are:
