School Community comes together for Eid Celebration

Our school community enjoyed a wonderful evening together at our Eid Celebration marking the end of Ramadan.  Staff, parents, sixth formers and governors came together for the evening under the theme of ‘community and good food’.

There were presentations on the significance of Ramadan by speakers from the MK Islamic Arts and Culture Centre and our Sixth Formers.  The Mayor of Milton Keynes also spoke and praised our students’ passion for diversity and togetherness.

Our guests enjoyed a delicious three course meal provided by local vendor Khyber Chefs and desserts donated by Cake Box and the MK Warriors Cricket Club.  Former Denbigh student, Zaara Perveen provided Henna designs for our guests.

The event was supported financially by the Denbigh Association helping to make the event affordable for all.

Mr Aftab who led the event with the Sixth Form Eid Committee said: ‘It was a pleasure to see our Sixth Formers working together to put on this celebration and being rewarded with an event that truly celebrated the spirit of togetherness and belonging we have as a school community.’

Thank you to Mr Aftab, Mr Peeran, Mrs Conway and one of our governors, Mrs Jan, for helping to put on this successful event and to our student organisers – Trinity Fulton, Nicole Gusha, Rehan Hussain, Mansha Khan, Gabriel Moses, Haris Qureshi, Safa Syed and Michelle Wilson.
