From Piste to Pizza on Italian Ski Trip!

During the Easter holidays, 35 students from Years 9, 10 and 12 enjoyed an unforgettable ski trip to the snowy slopes of Sestriere, Italy.  From the moment they arrived, the students embraced a week filled with fresh mountain air, fun and fantastic skiing.

Whether complete beginners or more experienced skiers, everyone challenged themselves on the slopes, showing impressive perseverance and a willingness to improve.  With five hours of ski instruction each day from expert instructors, progress was rapid throughout the week — with some students even conquering red runs by the final day.

To add to the fun, a range of light‑hearted daily awards were introduced, including Best Tumble, Wally, Best Mountain Selfie, Ski Lodge Legend and Most Improved Skier.  Students voted each evening, with the winners announced at breakfast the following morning, creating plenty of laughter.

The trip offered much more than skiing alone.  Evenings were packed with enjoyable activities such as trips to the cinema, a quiz night, visits to a local pizzeria, and warming treats of focaccia and hot chocolate.  These moments allowed students to relax, socialise and unwind after busy days on the mountain.

Above all, the trip was about building confidence, resilience and independence, while creating new friendships and lasting memories. Throughout the week, students supported one another and represented the School exceptionally well, demonstrating maturity, kindness and respect at all times.

A huge thank you to Mrs South-Greaves, Mr Wu, Miss Burlace and Mr Hairsine for accompanying the students on the trip and for helping to make it such a positive and memorable experience for our students.
