Denbigh Alumni focus on Enterprise with Year 10
Alumni students, Emma McQuade and Jade Cheshire who have both gone on to have successful careers in business, came back to school to lead sessions on ‘Enterprise’ for Year 10 students as part of our Autumn Term Enrichment Day. Emma runs her own company, ‘Cheeky Cheesecakes’ and Jade is Senior Finance Business Partner at Network Rail.
These sessions were part of a fantastic Enrichment Day for Year 10 when they came off timetable to develop key skills which will hopefully last them a lifetime. As well as the Enterprise sessions, there were sessions on Self Defence led by KMDT, First Aid led by The British Red Cross, Employability led by Aiimi and Mental Health led by Counsellor, Lucy McGroaty.
Mr Burgess, Assistant Headteacher who led the day said ‘It was fantastic to have our alumni students leading sessions focused on setting up a business. It was inspiring for Year 10 to hear from former students who have gone on to be so successful. We are very grateful to them and the other external organisations who came into school to lead such engaging sessions aimed at developing vital life skills for our students.’
