Under 18 Boys Football Team are County Champions

Congratulations to our U18 Boys Football Team who are Buckinghamshire Schools FA Plate Champions after beating Cottesloe School 2-1 in the County Final, held at Arbour Park Stadium, home of Slough Town FC.
Denbigh’s early dominance was rewarded when ‘Player of The Match’, Olly Awujo opened the scoring, and we went in at half time 1-0 up. However, Cottesloe came back into the match after half time and equalised, ramping up the tension. The remainder of the game saw chances for both teams, but we came out on top when Olly Awujo was awarded a penalty and team captain, Kyle Johnson calmly converted it.

This is the third time in four years that our U18 Boys Team, which draws on players from our successful Football Academy, has reached the County Final which shows the depth of footballing talent we have at Denbigh. This year, just to reach the final, our team had to beat two teams seeded above them. After the team celebrated their win, they stayed to cheer on our U16 Girls Team in their closely fought County Final.
Congratulations to the team who were: (in alphabetical order):
Tolu Asiwaju, Olly Awujo, Kayden Bland, Joseph Bradstock, Riley Brownlow, Adam Day, Usher George, Finley Gunn, Atail Ibrahimi, Kyle Johnson, Ian Katumba, Aaron Lewis, Tomiwa Ogunkunle, Olaposi Taiwo, Jude Webb
