Book Club members attend Carnegie Medal Awards

Students from our popular Carnegie Book Club joined 600 young people from across the country at the Carnegie Medals Ceremony held at the Cambridge Theatre (home of the musical Matilda) in London to discover the winners of these prestigious prizes for young adult literature.  

Despite the heatwave conditions our students had a brilliant time! They were able to buy copies of the nominated books to take home, and most of them got them signed by the authors in attendance at the Ceremony.  A few lucky students also managed to snag pictures with the authors.

Our thanks go to the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) for giving us the opportunity to attend this prestigious awards ceremony.  Thanks also to Ms Zammit and Mrs Rowe who accompanied the students on the trip.

The Denbigh Carnegie Book Club runs every year from February to June, and all age groups are welcome to join next year!
