Shining a spotlight on Creative Talent at Awards Ceremony  

Achievement and contribution in the Creative Arts and Arts subjects of Art, Drama, Music, Music Technology, English, Media, Humanities, Languages & Social Sciences were celebrated at a recent Awards Evening. 

Alumni student Nia Gallimore who is Head of Commercial at MK Gallery was our special guest.  In an inspiring speech, Nia spoke about her journey since leaving Denbigh which has led to her to her role with MK Gallery.  Nia gave out 125 awards to students recognising academic achievement and outstanding contribution and for participation in extra-curricular activities.

There were also performances from our students including Maisie, Year 12 who performed a nocturne on the violin; Ugochi from Year 10 who performed a monologue from her LAMDA exam – ‘Votes for Women’ and our Sixth Form Holocaust Ambassadors who talked about their ambassadorial roles, including a visit to Auschwitz.  One of our Ambassadors, Eliott read a poem inspired by the experience of visiting Auschwitz.

A highlight of the evening was the awarding of our ‘Creative Arts Lifetime Achievement Awards’ which are given to Year 13 students who have made an outstanding contribution to the Creative Arts throughout their time at Denbigh.  This year Isabella, Lara, Jaina and Anvi were recognised.  We are proud of them all and look forward to hearing about their artistic journeys after Denbigh.
